An alliance is being constructed from the foundation up to comprise an "artistic portrayal" choir. This choir consists of a partenership between Westside and Pineywood Community After School Programs, both programs are under the umbrella of James A. Henry YMCA. The choir missions its performances to portray everyday life within the community (i.e. living without a father in the home, crime, poverty). In doing so, the idea is to present a message to an audiance which states the problem, how it affects, and angles that can be taken to aid in making a life better. For example, a child may sing of bouts faced without having their father arround, acting out scenarios of such a state, exhibiting all the trials that ensue. The end of a program is geared to bring the story full circle offering elements and opportunities for differences to be made. It's more than a choir, i'ts a portrayal of life in an artistic manner.
