Brand New to North Georgia

The YMCA Princess is a unique and special time for fathers and their daughters (5-10 years). Just imagine 100’s of dads getting together with their daughters for a campout at the Ocoee, spending the night at the Knoxville Zoo or getting all dressed up for the Father/Daughter Dinner and Dance.

The Y Princess program has a group meeting in the community in which you live and city wide activity each month. This will give you two (2) main activities that are already planned for you. The small group meetings are called, Cirlces. Each Circle group has a unique name and a great heritage. These small groups meet together to build bonds with their daughters and other dads. Circle groups meet throughout the North Georgia communities in Ringgold, Boynton, Fort Oglethorpe, and Chickamauga.

The best thing about being in Y Princess is the time you will spend with your daughter, the memories you will create and the relationship that you will build. This special time is just for her; nothing else to get in the way, only you and her. And other fathers and daughters just like you; taking time from their busy schedules to do the right thing.

YMCA Guides

The YMCA Guides is fun, rewarding and very exciting. Sons and fathers spending time together being kids, friends and buddies. The Y Guides is about time and nothing more. Quality time spent with your son. The activities are planned and all you have to do is participate.

Enjoy the day hiking in the mountains, picking pumpkins or fishing at a private lake. Of course these are things you can do by yourself or you can be part of the Y Guides where hundreds of dads are doing the same thing. There is something truly great about being all together at Camp Ocoee.

Why should you participate in YMCA Guides? Because it could be the most important thing you do for you and your son. Building a strong relationship with your son is as important as the values you teach him. In developing a bond with your son, he will see in you the values you are teaching by your example.

Each month small groups meet together in their communities called Circles. Each Circle has a unique name and great heritage. Activities at the circle meetings include service projects, crafts, hiking, camping, and lots of fun. There are Circle groups planned for Ringgold, Boynton, Ft. Oglethorpe and Chickamauga. Each month there is a large group meeting know as an Expedition. Expeditions include Camp Ocoee each Fall and Spring, Cave Trips, Magic Shows, Football Games and much more.

Mom & Son

The North Georgia YMCA will feature an Adventure Guides program for moms and sons on the first Monday night of each month at the Senior Center at Benton Place. Moms and sons will meet each month to build a stronger relationship through activities that focus on communication, trust and fun. For more information contact your North Georgia YMCA.
