Teens

YMCA Teen Karate
This enrichment program is for boys and girls ages 10-19, with the classes are paid for by the Walker County Teen Resource Center.  The only cost to the student is the karate uniform and belt.  Classes are held at the North Georgia Family YMCA facility.

In the teen karate program, students are exposed to an alternative to after school activities.  The program promotes self-discipline, self-confidence, self-control, self-esteem, and self-motivation.  It also focuses on caring, honesty, responsibility, and respect for others.

YMCA Adult to Youth Mentoring
Held at Chattanooga Valley Elementary and  Rossville Elementary Schools, the mentoring program provides adults from our community to be matched with a student.  Meetings between the mentor and the student are held weekly at the school site during the day.  Mentors take an active role in building positive spirit, mind, and body in each student.

More teen programs will be coming in the near future.  In the meantime, if your school or neighborhood has a need for YMCA Teen programs please let us know by clicking here
