This program is available through funding from the state of Georgia and the Walker County Teen Resource Center. The only cost to the student is the karate uniform, belt and testing and sparring equipment. Classes are held at the North Georgia Family YMCA facility.

The goal of the Teen Enrichment Program is to promote self-discipline, self-confidence, self-control, self-esteem, and self-motivation. We also incorporate character development on in the areas of caring, honesty, responsibility, and respect for others.

YMCA Adult to Youth Mentoring

Held at Chattanooga Valley Middle School and Rossville Middle Schools, the mentoring program provides adults from our community to be matched with a student. Meetings between the mentor and the student are held weekly at the school site during the day. Mentors take an active role in building positive spirit, mind, and body within each student.

Knockout Warrior Teens

In a partnership with Lakeview Middle School the Knockout Warrior Teens club was developed to provide positive influences to at-risk teens. The program includes weekly mentoring about the importance of keeping good grades and good attendance at school. One day per week, teens are transported to the North Georgia Family YMCA to participate in physical activity, learn about age appropriate fitness practices and have a good time of fun and fellowship.

More teen programs will be coming in the near future. In the meantime, if your school or neighborhood has a need for YMCA Teen programs please let us know by emailing us.
