Aquatics for Adults
- Hydrojog: Muscle toning with no impact to joints. By exercising in the deep water with the aid of a flotation belt to keep upright in the water, improves cardiovascular fitness, muscle tone and flexibility.
- Aquafit: Shallow water exercise program with upbeat music in a social environment. The natural resistance of the water combined with water weights develops muscle tone and strength, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance.
- Active Older Adults (AOA): A shallow or deepwater workout geared to meet the needs of the older adult. Workout segments include cardiovascular, strength and toning exercises.
- Arthritis: The YMCA Arthritis and the National Arthritis Foundation provides a program that increases the range of motion and flexibility of the arthritic joints. This is also an ideal program for the older adult just starting an exercise program, post-surgery or rehabilitation for an injury.
- Adult Swim Lessons: A comfortable group setting, which incorporates individual goals into learning water adjustment skills, safety, swimming fundamentals and fitness.
- Scuba: Includes classroom and pool sessions. Open water dives are scheduled upon completion of the course. Class participants will need their own mask, fins and snorkel. Textbook and other scuba equipment are provided. Not available at every branch
