
The Hamilton Family YMCA received the Governor’s Award of Excellence on Oct. 8, 2020 for their outreach efforts during the Easter 2020 Tornado. We are so proud of the staff and all they accomplished in meeting community needs during this time! See excerpts from the press release below:
Chattanooga, TN (Oct. 9, 2020) – On Thursday, Oct. 8, the Hamilton Family YMCA was presented with the Governor’s Award of Excellence for their relief efforts during the Easter 2020 Tornado.
The award was presented by state representatives of The Governor’s Office of Faith-Based & Community Initiatives, as well as local representatives of this committee.
"Your willingness to serve as a place of refuge for those displaced by the storms providing food, medical care, volunteers and personal items reflects your values and commitment to serving your community, said Dave Worland, Executive Director for The Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. “Governor Bill Lee thanks you for your dedication and service to your community as you live out your mission and share God's love."
