YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga and  YMCA of the USA Response to Recent Events

It's during times like the past couple weeks that stir emotions of sadness and anger in us all. It is difficult for our organization (both locally and nationally) to put into words our sadness at the unnecessary loss of life that has occurred recently.

The YMCA has a long history of cultivating potential in our youth; helping individuals become healthy in spirit, mind and spirit; creating safe spaces for all to thrive; and helping our children reach their full potential. We commit to continue to do everything in our power to lift the mission of the Y in our communities. It has never been more important than now.

Our hearts go out to all who have been effected by recent tragedies. We pray not only for these communities and families, but also for our nation as a whole.

suzanneWe invite you to read a statement by YMCA of the USA President & CEO, Suzanne McCormick.
Suzanne became President & CEO of Y-USA in September 2021, and has nearly 30 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, including U.S. President for United Way Worldwide.
